Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a TPO flat roof replacement project in Clearwater, Florida. The existing roofing system was removed down to the decking, revealing areas of rotten wood that required replacement. Following the wood repairs, a new, durable GAF 60 mil TPO roofing system was expertly installed to provide long-lasting protection against the elements.
Work Performed
This project involved a full tear-off of the old roofing system, followed by careful inspection and replacement of any damaged or rotten wood. The decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to ensure it met current code requirements. Next, new tapered boards were installed with 3-inch plates and screws every 16 inches. Finally, a new 60 mil GAF TPO rubber roofing system was installed with metal plates and screws on all seams, with all seams heat welded to create a single, solid unit. New TPO vents and rubber boot caps were also installed. The team also addressed existing issues, including flashing in 52 old concrete footers and installing 495 linear feet of custom white coping.
