Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roof replacement project in St. Petersburg, Florida, involving both shingle and TPO roofing systems. The existing roofs, showing signs of wear and age, needed a complete overhaul. We replaced the aging materials with modern, durable solutions to protect the home from the elements and enhance its energy efficiency, ensuring years of reliable protection for the homeowner. This project was a dual system, requiring expertise in both steep slope and low slope roofing.
Work Performed
The shingle roof replacement began with a full tear-off down to the wood deck, followed by replacement of any damaged wood and re-nailing the decking to meet current code. A peel-and-stick underlayment was installed as a waterproof barrier. New lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal were also installed. For the TPO portion, the existing roof was removed, wood was replaced as needed, and then tapered or foam boards were installed, followed by a 60-mill GAF TPO rubber roofing system, heat-welded for a seamless finish. Additionally, we removed and re-installed the solar panel system after the new roofs were in place.
