Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a flat roof replacement project for a homeowner in St. Petersburg, Florida. The existing roof was showing its age, requiring a full replacement to ensure lasting protection from the elements. Our team carefully removed the old roofing system and installed a brand new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system, providing a durable and reliable solution for years to come. This project also included a tile roof tie-in for a seamless and weather-tight connection.
Work Performed
The project began with a complete tear-off of the existing flat roof down to the wood deck. Any rotten wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. We then installed a peel and stick base sheet, followed by stripping around the perimeter for enhanced protection. A new drip edge was added, and a CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system was expertly installed. The project also involved removing and filling in a 2” pipe at the end of the valley. Additionally, three sheets of plywood were included with the tile roof replacement.
