Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive TPO roof replacement project on Building #25 in Clearwater, Florida. The existing roof, consisting of a tar and gravel system with underlying foam board, was removed down to the plywood decking. This project included addressing and correcting several issues, culminating in a durable and energy-efficient roofing solution using high-quality GAF materials.
Work Performed
The project began with removing loose gravel and the existing tar and gravel roof, including the foam board underneath. Any rotten wood within the plywood decking was replaced, and the remaining decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code requirements. We then installed 1/4" tapered foam board with plates and screws. A new GAF EverGuard TPO 60mil rubber roofing system was installed, glued to the ISO tapered boards, and secured with metal plates and screws. Seams were heat-welded for a unified, watertight seal, and a custom drip edge was installed around the perimeter.
