Team Armored Roofing recently completed a skylight replacement project in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The existing skylight was showing its age and needed to be replaced to prevent leaks and improve energy efficiency. Our team carefully removed the old skylight and installed a modern, energy-efficient replacement to enhance the home's aesthetics and protection against the elements.
Work Performed
The scope of work included removing the old skylight, roofing material around it, and the existing curb. We then installed a new self-flashing skylight featuring a flat glass finish and built-in UV protection for shatter resistance. New sealer was applied around the skylight perimeter, and 3-Tab Silver Lining shingles were installed around the new skylight, sealed with certified roofing cement. We also replaced plywood as needed, and ensured the area was thoroughly cleaned with magnets.
