Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed an aluminum pitch pan roof installation in Venice, Florida. The existing roof, damaged by a microburst weather event, needed a complete replacement. This project involved removing the old roofing material, installing a new Alumflo aluminum roofing system, and ensuring proper tie-ins with existing structures like the carport and lanai. The homeowner agreed to cover a portion of the material cost, while Team Armored Roofing handled the permit, dump fees, and labor.
Work Performed
The scope of work began with removing the existing pitch pan roofing down to the metal skin deck. We then measured rafter spacing and installed 1x3 stripping every 4 feet, secured with screws, providing a solid base. 3/4" insulation was glued between the battens before installing white drip edge around the perimeter. Finally, new 3" seam aluminum pitch pan panels were installed with sealant and screws, along with a new aluminum ridge cap and flashing over pitch pans at tie-in points. Existing gutters were addressed, including hanging a new gutter on the back of the house and adjusting the carport gutter for proper water drainage.
