Team Armored Roofing recently completed a tile roof repair project in St. Petersburg, Florida, addressing a section of damaged roofing. The project involved removing the existing tile and underlayment down to the wood decking. Our team then replaced any compromised wood before installing a new, robust roofing system. This ensures the St. Petersburg homeowner has a long-lasting, secure roof.
Work Performed
The scope of work included removing the existing tile roof down to the wood decking. We replaced any rotten or damaged wood, re-nailing the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code requirements. A new Polyglass peel and stick underlayment with a cloth finish was installed, along with new vents, drip edge, valley metal, flashing at tie-ins, ridge metal, and bird stop. The preexisting tile roof was then reinstalled using tile bond, a process Armored Roofing is certified in for roofs with a 6/12 pitch or less. As part of our full roof repair service, we also cleaned the gutters and used magnets to ensure a clean yard and beds.
