Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full tile roof replacement for a homeowner in Safety Harbor, Florida. The existing roof was removed, and the underlying decking was prepared for a new, durable tile system. The project included addressing areas of wood rot and ensuring the roof met current building codes for long-lasting protection against the elements.
Work Performed
The scope of work began with a complete tear-off of the existing roof down to the wood decking. We replaced 5 sheets of plywood and re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails. Following this, a new Polyglass peel-and-stick underlayment with a cloth finish was installed, along with new vents, drip edge, valley metal, ridge metal, and bird stop. The new tile roof, a design chosen by the customer, was installed using tile bond, a technique Team Armored is certified in. We also installed additional tile attic vents as needed and step sealed all penetrations for added protection. As a proactive measure, new starter flashing was installed to prevent rodent access.
