Team Armored Roofing recently completed a tile roof repair project in St. Petersburg, Florida. The homeowner reported a leak on the second story roof, located on the back side of the garage. Our inspection revealed damaged tiles and potentially compromised decking in the affected area, requiring a comprehensive repair to restore the roof's integrity and prevent further water damage. Work Performed
The project began with carefully removing the existing tiles in the leak area to access the underlying structure. Any rotten wood decking was then replaced and re-nailed with 8D nails, adhering to Florida building codes. Next, we installed new peel and stick underlayment, carefully tying it into the existing roofing material. To further protect the roof, we installed Certainteed modified granulated torch down roofing, fully granulated at the laps. Finally, the original tiles were reinstalled and secured with certified tile bond adhesive to prevent future issues.
