Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a tile roof repair project on a three-story home in St. Petersburg, Florida. The project involved addressing damage to the roof's back section, valley, and around the chimney. Our team meticulously removed damaged roofing materials, replaced compromised wood decking, and installed new underlayment and flashing to ensure long-lasting protection against the elements.
Work Performed
The scope of work included removing the existing tile roof down to the wood decking in specified areas. Any rotten or damaged wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code requirements. We installed Polyglass peel-and-stick underlayment with a cloth finish, new vents and boots, and new valley metal and flashing at tie-ins. Critically, we re-installed the pre-existing tile using tile bond, a method in which Armored Roofing is certified for roofs with a 6/12 pitch or less. We also installed new L flashing and counter flashing around the chimney, sealing it with certified roofing sealant and washered fasteners.
