Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a tile roof repair project on a 3-story home in St. Petersburg, Florida. The existing tile roof had several areas requiring attention, including sections on the back of the home, around a 14-foot valley, and at the chimney. Our team carefully removed damaged materials, addressed underlying wood issues, and expertly reinstalled the existing tile to restore the roof's integrity and appearance. This comprehensive repair ensures the continued protection of this St. Petersburg residence.
Work Performed
The scope of work included removing the existing tile and underlayment down to the wood decking in the affected areas. Any rotten or damaged wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code requirements. New Polyglass peel-and-stick underlayment with a cloth finish was installed, along with new vents, boots, valley metal, L flashing and counter flashing around the chimney. The pre-existing tiles were then reinstalled using tile bond, a method for which Armored Roofing is certified on roofs with a 6/12 pitch or less. Finally, the chimney was sealed with certified roofing sealant and washered fasteners.
