Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a TPO flat roof replacement project in St. Petersburg, Florida. The existing roof was removed down to the wood decking, revealing some areas requiring repair. We addressed these issues before installing a brand new, durable TPO roofing system to protect the home from the elements. This project ensures lasting protection against the harsh Florida weather.
Work Performed
The TPO roof replacement started with a complete tear-off of the old roofing down to the wood decking. Any damaged or rotten wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails for code compliance. New tapered boards were installed with 3-inch plates and screws, spaced 16 inches apart, to create proper drainage. Finally, a new 60-mill GAF TPO rubber roofing system was installed, heat-welded at the seams, along with new TPO vents, rubber boot caps, flashing, and drip edge.
