Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roof replacement project in St. Petersburg, Florida, involving both shingle and flat roofing systems. The project addressed aging and deteriorating roofing, ensuring the home is now protected with durable, modern materials. This project included careful attention to detail, from wood deck repairs to the installation of premium roofing materials, resulting in a safer and more aesthetically pleasing home.
Work Performed
The project encompassed several key stages. First, we removed the existing shingle and flat roofing down to the wood deck, replacing any rotten wood and re-nailing the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code. For the shingle roof, we installed new peel and stick underlayment, lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal, topped with Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles and upgraded cobra ridge vents. For the flat roof sections, we installed peel and stick base sheet, stripping around the perimeter, and a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system. A tapered system was also installed on one of the flat roof sections to ensure proper drainage.
