Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roof replacement project in St. Petersburg, Florida, addressing both a shingle roof and a flat roof portion. The project involved a complete tear-off of the existing roofing materials, followed by necessary repairs to the underlying wood decking. The homeowner now has a beautiful, durable new roof system protecting their home.
Work Performed
The shingle roof replacement included removing the old shingles down to the wood deck, replacing any rotten wood and re-nailing the decking with 8D ring shank nails. We then installed a peel and stick underlayment throughout the shingle roof, new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal. New Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles were installed, along with upgraded cobra ridge vents. The flat roof portion involved removing the existing roof down to the wood deck, replacing any rotten wood, re-nailing the decking, and installing a peel and stick base sheet, stripping around the perimeter, and a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system over a tapered system for improved drainage. The brick chimney also got new L flashing, counter flashing, and sealant and was painted.
