Team Armored Roofing recently completed a flat roof-over project in St. Petersburg, Florida, addressing an existing flat roof situation. Our team provided a complete roof-over solution, ensuring a watertight and durable roofing system. This project involved careful preparation and the application of a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system, enhancing the roof's performance and longevity.
Work Performed
The project commenced with the removal of several rows of shingles along the tie-in to the flat roof. A 6-inch perimeter was cut around the flat roof to remove the old drip edge. Stripping was installed around the perimeter for enhanced protection, followed by the installation of a new drip edge. The new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system was then installed over the existing material. All penetrations were primed, flooded, and granulated with hot tar for a secure seal. Finally, the shingles were reinstalled along the tie-in and sealed with certified roofing cement.
