Team Armored Roofing recently completed a roof over project in St. Petersburg, Florida. This project involved installing new, high-quality GAF HDZ shingles over an existing 3-tab shingle roof. The homeowners sought to improve their roof's performance and longevity without a full tear-off. Careful attention was paid to ensure a secure and weather-resistant installation.
Work Performed
The scope of work included several critical steps. First, certified cement was meticulously applied around the entire perimeter of the roof, as well as around all vents and pipes, to create a watertight seal. The old ridge vent was removed and replaced with an upgraded Cobra ridge vent to ensure proper ventilation at the roof's peaks. Finally, approximately 11 squares of GAF HDZ lifetime high wind rated shingles were installed over the existing 3-tab shingles.
