Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full shingle roof replacement project in St. Petersburg, Florida. The existing roof was removed down to the wood deck, revealing some areas requiring attention. We replaced the compromised wood decking and installed a brand-new, high-performance roofing system designed for long-lasting protection against the Florida elements. The homeowner selected Timberline HDZ shingles for their beauty and durability.
Work Performed
The project began with a complete tear-off of the existing shingles down to the wood decking. We then replaced five sheets of plywood and re-nailed the remaining decking with 8D ring shank nails to ensure code compliance. New synthetic underlayment was installed across the entire roof surface, followed by new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing at all tie-ins, and valley metal. The final step was the installation of Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles, along with an upgraded Omni ridge vent and cobra ridge vents to ensure proper attic ventilation. All penetrations were step sealed for added protection.
