Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a flat roof replacement project in Port Richey, Florida. The existing roof was removed down to the wood deck and completely replaced. This project also included a tie-in to an existing tile roof. The customer chose a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system for their flat roof, ensuring long-lasting protection against the elements.
Work Performed
The scope of work involved several key steps. First, the existing roof was carefully removed, and any rotten wood was replaced. The decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet code requirements. Next, a peel-and-stick base sheet was installed, along with stripping around the perimeter for added protection. New drip edge, vents, and lead pipe covers were installed as needed. A new tapered system was installed over the existing deck leveling it out to meet the customers needs, ensuring a proper install of the tapered system. Finally, a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system was installed and a tie-in of an existing tile roof was completed with polyglass peel and stick underlayment.
