Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a flat roof replacement project in Port Richey, Florida, alongside a shingle roof tie-in. The original flat roof was removed down to the wood deck due to its age and condition, while the small shingle portion needed updating for a cohesive look. We replaced the flat roof with a durable CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system, ensuring long-lasting protection against the elements.
Work Performed
The project began with removing the existing flat and shingle roofing down to the wood decking. We replaced any rotten wood and re-nailed the decking to meet current code using 8D ring shank nails. For the flat roof, we installed a peel-and-stick base sheet, stripping around the perimeter, new drip edge, vents, and a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system (5 squares flat). For the shingle tie-in (1 square), peel and stick underlayment was installed. New lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing and valley metal were also installed along with Timberline HDZ shingles, and a cobra ridge vent.
