The existing roof was removed down to the wood deck, which was then inspected and repaired, addressing any rotten wood. The new roof system included a tapered insulation system to improve drainage and performance for years to come.
Work Performed
The project began with the removal of the existing flat roof and two rows of tile to facilitate the new roof install, followed by leveling the decking to ensure a smooth base for the tapered system. Tapered insulation boards were then installed using 3-inch plates and screws every 16 inches. A peel and stick base sheet was applied before installing the new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system. To complete the job, new drip edge, vents were installed, boots and vents were painted to match the roof, and the gutters and yard were cleared of debris.
