Team Armored Roofing addressed several critical roof issues for a client in Dunedin, Florida. The existing flat roof had failing skylights and water damage. Our team skillfully re-framed and re-flashed the skylights to prevent future leaks, repaired damaged areas, and provided updated gutter and downspout systems. The project resulted in a more secure and watertight roof, protecting the home from the elements.
Work Performed
The scope of work included removing and re-framing two existing 2x4 skylights, including rebuilding and properly re-flashing the skylight boxes. To prevent water damming, a cricket was built between the two skylights. Additionally, two other 2x4 skylights over the new interior area were removed and replaced with 3/4 inch plywood, followed by a 5-square torch roof application. A low area over the addition was built up with a strip of modified bitumen, and the team also removed and replaced trim pieces. Finally, 40 linear feet of new 6-inch seamless gutters with new 5-inch downspouts were installed where needed, and damaged ceiling areas around the skylight were repaired with wood putty.
