Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full roof replacement project in Clearwater, Florida, involving both shingle and flat roofing sections. The project addressed an aging roof system and upgraded it to meet current building codes and provide enhanced protection against Florida's weather conditions. The customer now has a durable and attractive roof backed by comprehensive warranties, ensuring peace of mind for years to come.
Work Performed
The project started with a complete tear-off of the existing roofing materials down to the wood decking. Any rotten wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails for code compliance. A peel-and-stick underlayment was installed throughout the shingle portion for enhanced leak protection and potential insurance discounts, followed by new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal. The customer selected GAF Timberline HDZ high-wind rated shingles for the shingle portion and a CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system for the flat roof portion. The final step for both roof types included vent upgrades and thorough sealing of penetrations.
