Team Armored Roofing completed a unique project in Belleair, Florida involving a flat roof replacement with the addition of a pitched system. The original flat roof was removed down to the wood deck, and the decking was then leveled before installing a tapered system to create a pitch for improved water runoff. The project also included a tie-in to an existing shingle roof section, ensuring a seamless and watertight integration.
Work Performed
Our team began by removing the existing flat roof, replacing any rotten wood and re-nailing the decking to meet current code. We installed a peel-and-stick base sheet for enhanced waterproofing, followed by a CertainTeed modified torch-down roofing system over the new tapered system. For the shingle roof tie-in, we removed shingles, installed new peel-and-stick underlayment, new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, and flashed all tie-in points before installing GAF HDZ Timberline Lifetime shingles.
