Team Armored Roofing completed a flat roof replacement in Temple Terrace, Florida, focusing on creating a tapered system for improved water runoff. The existing flat roof on the back of the home was removed and replaced with a new system designed to pitch towards the existing flat-pitched area. This project involved careful attention to detail to ensure proper drainage and a watertight seal.
Work Performed
The project began with the removal of the existing roof down to the wood deck. Any rotten wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. A peel-and-stick base sheet was installed, followed by stripping around the perimeter for added protection. A new tapered system was then installed using 3-inch plates and screws every 16 inches. Finally, the customer's chosen CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system was installed over the new tapered system.
