Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive shingle roof replacement and solar panel re-installation project in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The existing roof was showing its age, requiring a full replacement to ensure the home's protection from the elements. This project involved removing the old roof, replacing damaged wood, and installing a brand-new, durable roofing system along with reinstalling the existing solar panels.
Work Performed
Our team began by carefully removing the existing shingles down to the wood deck. We replaced five sheets of rotten plywood to provide a solid base and re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails. A peel-and-stick underlayment was then applied across the entire roof for enhanced waterproofing, followed by new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, and valley metal. The customer chose GAF Timberline HDZ shingles, known for their 154mph wind rating, which we installed along with upgraded Omni roll Cobra ridge vents. Finally, we reinstalled the approximately 48 existing solar panels.
