Team Armored Roofing recently completed a shingle repair project in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The existing roof had suffered damage to a 14-foot valley, requiring a comprehensive repair to ensure weather tightness and prevent further deterioration. Our team addressed the issue with precision and high-quality materials to restore the roof's integrity.
Work Performed
Our work involved removing the damaged shingles from the 14-foot valley and one square above it, exposing the wood decking. We replaced a section of rotten wood decking, ensuring proper nailing with 8D ring shank nails according to Florida building code. New peel-and-stick underlayment was installed through the valley and the repair area, followed by new valley flashing sealed with roofing cement. Finally, new three-tab white shingles were installed to match the existing roof, sealed with roofing cement to ensure a watertight seal. As part of our commitment, we also cleaned all gutters and the yard, using magnets to collect any stray nails.
