Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing completed a full 5V metal roof replacement for a home in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The project involved removing the existing roof, addressing any damaged wood, and installing a brand new, durable metal roofing system. The homeowner now has a beautiful and long-lasting Galvalume roof protecting their home from the elements. We also repaired the brick chimney flashing to ensure a watertight seal.
Work Performed
The scope of work began with a complete tear-off of the old roofing material down to the wood decking. We replaced any rotten wood (up to 5 sheets) and re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. Next, we installed a high-temperature peel-and-stick underlayment specifically designed for metal roofs. The installation included new flashing, vents, pipe covers, drip edge, valley metal, and all necessary components, finishing with a 26g Galvalume 5V metal roofing system installed with rubber washer screws. As part of the project, we also installed 38 linear feet of 1x6 fascia along the front of the home and completed a brick chimney flashing repair by grinding in a lip for the flashing and sealing it.
