Team Armored Roofing completed a roof over project in St. Petersburg, Florida, transforming an existing 3-tab shingle roof. This project involved installing a new layer of high-performance GAF HDZ shingles directly over the old roof, providing enhanced protection and a refreshed aesthetic. The project focused on improving both the durability and ventilation of the roof system for long-term performance. The homeowner now has a beautiful, long-lasting roof.
Work Performed
The roof over began with thorough preparation. We installed certified cement around the entire roof perimeter as well as all vents and pipes to create a secure seal. We then removed the old, less efficient ridge vent. The project culminated in the installation of 16 squares of new GAF HDZ lifetime high wind rated shingles over the existing 3-tab shingles and a new, upgraded Cobra ridge vent at the roof's peaks to ensure proper ventilation.
