Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive shingle and flat roof replacement project in Port Charlotte, Florida. This project involved replacing both a shingle roof and a flat roof on the same property, addressing wear and tear and upgrading the roofing system for enhanced protection. The existing roofs were removed, and the structures were rebuilt to meet current code requirements and improve long-term durability against the elements.
Work Performed
For the shingle roof replacement, we removed the old shingles down to the wood deck, replaced any rotten wood, and re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails. New peel-and-stick underlayment was installed, along with new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal. The homeowners chose CertainTeed shingles at the request of the HOA, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and high-wind resistance. For the flat roof replacement, we installed a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system, including leveling the deck with tapered boards.
