Team Armored Roofing completed a TPO roof over project in Palm Harbor, Florida, revitalizing an existing flat roof. The project involved preparing the existing roof surface and installing a new, durable TPO roofing system. This project significantly enhanced the roof's protection against the elements while improving the building's energy efficiency.
Work Performed
The project began with a thorough cleaning of the existing roof, removing debris and algae staining. Next, tapered boards were installed using 3-inch plates and screws, spaced every 16 inches to meet code requirements. A new 60 mil GAF TPO rubber roofing system was then installed with metal plates and screws on all seams, followed by heat-welding to create a single, watertight unit. New TPO drains, vents, rubber boot caps, and flashing were also installed, along with a turn bar anchored with rubber-washered screws around the perimeter of all AC units.
