Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roof replacement project in Palm Harbor, Florida, involving both a shingle roof and a flat roof section. The project addressed an aging roof system and provided the homeowner with enhanced protection and energy efficiency. The shingle portion received upgraded ventilation, while the flat roof benefited from a new tapered system to improve drainage.
Work Performed
The shingle roof replacement included removing the old shingles down to the wood deck, replacing five sheets of plywood, and re-nailing the decking with 8D ring shank nails. A peel-and-stick underlayment was installed, along with new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, and valley metal. The homeowner selected Timberline Lifetime GAF HDZ shingles, known for their 154mph wind rating, in their preferred color. The flat roof received a full replacement, including removal of the old roof and insulation down to the wood deck. New plywood was installed on the deck to ensure a proper install of the tapered system. The customer then chose a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system, providing a durable and waterproof solution.
