Team Armored Roofing recently completed a project in Palm Harbor, Florida, that included both a full flat roof replacement and targeted repairs. The existing flat roof needed a complete overhaul to ensure lasting protection. Additionally, specific repairs were needed around a power pole and where the flat roof met the house, addressing water intrusion concerns.
Work Performed
The project began with removing the old flat roof down to the wood deck. Any rotten wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. A peel-and-stick base sheet was installed, followed by stripping around the perimeter for added protection. New drip edge and a boot around the power pole were installed, along with a new CertainTeed modified torch-down roofing system. Furthermore, we removed the existing wood siding on the back of the flat roof, properly flashed the flat roof into the house, and installed new wood T1-11 siding, along with a new white attic vent.
