Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a TPO roof replacement project in Palm Harbor, Florida, using the robust GAF Everguard system. The existing roof was removed down to the wood decking, which was then inspected and repaired with new plywood where needed. This project addressed water pooling issues by incorporating a tapered insulation system to ensure proper drainage away from the building.
Work Performed
The project began with removing the existing roof and re-nailing the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet code. Next, ice and water underlayment was installed for superior leak protection, followed by 2-inch foam boards secured with plates and screws. The new 60 mil GAF Everguard TPO roofing system was then installed, featuring heat-welded seams, new TPO vents, custom drip edge, and a secure term bar around the perimeter. To improve drainage, a tapered insulation system was installed, creating a slope that meets 6” in the middle. The metal coping along the parapet wall was also replaced with white painted aluminum.
