Team Armored Roofing recently completed a skylight repair on a flat roof in Palm Harbor, Florida. The existing skylight was experiencing leaks due to deteriorated flashing and roofing materials around the curb. Our team addressed these issues with precision, ensuring a watertight seal and extending the life of the skylight and roof system. The project involved careful removal and replacement of key components to restore the integrity of the roof.
Work Performed
The scope of work included removing the old skylight cap and surrounding compromised roofing material. We carefully extracted the old flashing around the curb and installed new L flashing, securing it with protective material strips underneath for added protection. New CertainTeed modified torch roofing material was then installed around the skylight flashing, with torch application extending up the curb for a guaranteed seal. Finally, sealant was applied along the top perimeter of the curb, and the preexisting skylight cap was reinstalled with proper fasteners. In addition, some wood replacement was necessary, utilizing 1/2 inch plywood and 2x4 rafter tails as needed.
