Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a flat roof replacement project in Dunedin, Florida. The existing roof had drainage issues, so the client opted for a complete replacement with an upgraded tapered insulation system. Our team meticulously removed the old roof, addressed wood rot, and installed a brand-new, high-performance flat roofing system.
Work Performed
The scope of work involved a full tear-off down to the wood decking, followed by re-nailing with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code requirements. We replaced rotten wood as needed and installed a peel-and-stick base sheet for enhanced protection. A key aspect of this project was leveling the existing decking and installing a tapered insulation board system using 3-inch plates and screws, creating a proper pitch for effective water drainage. Finally, we installed a new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system chosen by the customer, ensuring a durable and waterproof seal. We also constructed a curb for the A/C unit, flashing and sealing it with a modified roofing system. A licensed technician disconnected and reconnected the AC unit.
