Team Armored Roofing completed a comprehensive low slope roof replacement project in Dunedin, Florida. The existing roof was removed down to the wood deck, with rotten wood replaced to ensure a solid foundation. The project included not only the roof replacement itself, but also the replacement of an existing skylight and closing in a skylight on the east side of the home, all to bring the roof up to current Florida building codes.
Work Performed
This low slope roof replacement involved several key steps. First, the existing roof was torn off down to the decking, which was then re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails. After necessary wood replacement, including using both 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch plywood, a peel and stick base sheet was installed, followed by stripping around the perimeter. A new CertainTeed modified torch down roofing system was then professionally installed. As part of the project, old gutters were removed and replaced with 100ft of new seamless gutters, complete with reconnection of the existing downspouts.
