Team Armored Roofing recently completed a tile to shingle roof replacement project in Clearwater, Florida. The existing tile roof was removed, and a brand new shingle roof system was installed. This project involved meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a durable and aesthetically pleasing result for the homeowner, enhancing both the protection and value of their home.
Work Performed
The project began with a complete tear-off of the existing tile roof, followed by inspection and replacement of any rotted wood decking. We re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current Florida building codes. A new synthetic underlayment was installed throughout the roof to provide superior water protection, and we installed new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, valley metal and flashing at all tie-ins. The customer selected Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles (154mph) for the new roof, complemented by upgraded Omni ridge vents for optimal attic ventilation. Finally, we step sealed all penetrations for ultimate leak protection.
