Team Armored Roofing recently completed a tile roof repair project in Clearwater, Florida, addressing a leak originating around a solar skylight on the front of the home. The existing condition showed signs of water intrusion and compromised underlayment. Our team carefully removed damaged tiles and underlayment, rectified the flashing around the skylight, and installed a superior waterproofing system before replacing the tiles.
Work Performed
The scope of work involved a meticulous process. First, we carefully removed the tiles around the solar skylight, extending from the peak down to the underlayment. We then removed the old underlayment to expose the flashing, ensuring it was properly sealed. New Polyglass felt peel and stick underlayment was installed, running up and over the peak to the back of the home. Finally, the original tiles were reinstalled using tile bond adhesive foam per Florida building code, and fasteners with rubber washers were added to the metal cap on the solar tube skylight housing.
