Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full roof replacement in Clearwater, Florida, involving both a standing seam metal roof and a TPO roof. The project required removing the existing roof down to the wood decking and addressing some rotten wood that needed replacement. The homeowners in Clearwater chose a stylish and durable standing seam metal roof for a portion of their home and a TPO roof for a flat section.
Work Performed
The project began with a complete tear-off of the existing roof, followed by replacing any damaged wood decking and re-nailing the existing decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code requirements. For the standing seam metal roof, we installed a high-temperature peel-and-stick underlayment, new drip edge, valley metal, pipe covers, and vents before installing the new standing seam metal roofing system in the homeowner's chosen color. For the flat roof we installed either tapered boards or 1.5-2 inch foam board over the wood decking. We sealed the seams of the new 60 mil GAF TPO rubber roofing system using a heat welding process to create a watertight seal.
