Team Armored Roofing responded to a Tampa homeowner experiencing a persistent leak stemming from their tile roof. The leak was located along the rake where it met the wall, extended into the valley tie-in on the second story above a bedroom, and also presented over the garage. The project involved careful tile removal, wood repair, and re-establishment of a waterproof barrier to ensure the home was protected from further water damage. We used top-quality materials and skilled craftsmanship to complete the tile roof repair.
Work Performed
Our team began by carefully removing the existing tile around the rake, wall, and valley area up to the source of the leak. We then removed the old underlayment to reveal the extent of the wood damage. Damaged woodwork was removed and replaced with new lumber. To provide a robust waterproof seal, new modified bitumen torch-down roofing was installed over the affected areas. Finally, the original tile was meticulously reinstalled to match the existing roof. Over the garage, we removed tile, underlayment, and plywood to address damaged rafters. Two new 2x4s were sistered to the existing rafters, followed by new plywood and underlayment before re-installing the tile.
