Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full shingle roof replacement for a homeowner in Tampa, Florida. The existing roof was removed down to the wood deck, revealing some areas of rotten wood that required replacement. A new, durable GAF HDZ shingle roof system was installed, providing long-lasting protection and enhanced curb appeal to the home.
Work Performed
Our crew began by carefully removing the old roofing material and replacing four sheets of rotten plywood. The existing deck was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet Florida building code requirements. We then installed a new peel and stick underlayment throughout the roof, replaced all lead pipe boots, vents, drip edge, valley metal, and upgraded to a Cobra ridge vent for proper attic ventilation. Finally, we installed approximately 19 squares of new Lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles and 1 square of matching ridge cap, also painting the boots and vents to match the owner's color choice.
