Team Armored Roofing recently completed a roof replacement project on a rear garage in Tampa, Florida. The original shingle roof was showing its age, so we replaced it with a brand-new, durable roofing system. The homeowner now has a reliable roof that will protect their garage for years to come. This project included updating the roof to meet current code for wind mitigation in the Tampa area.
Work Performed
Our team began by removing the existing shingles down to the wood deck, ensuring to replace any rotten wood found during the process. We then re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. Next, we installed new peel and stick underlayment throughout the roof for enhanced protection and potential insurance discounts. Finally, we installed new Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles, new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal. We also added hurricane clips to all rafters along the eaves with 3 nails on the top and 3 nails on the bottom to provide added protection.
