Team Armored Roofing successfully completed a chimney flashing repair project on a three-story home in St. Petersburg, Florida. The existing chimney was experiencing leaks due to failing flashing around the stucco. Our team addressed the issue by removing the existing tiles and roofing material around the chimney to facilitate a complete flashing overhaul, ensuring a watertight seal and preventing further damage to the property.
Work Performed
Our crew began by removing the existing tiles and roofing materials surrounding the chimney. We then installed new L flashing around the chimney using sealer and screws. A modified CertainTeed torch was applied around the chimney and over the cricket. New counter flashing was then installed with 4300 sealer and screws equipped with rubber washers, followed by a final layer of sealant applied to the top of the counter flashing. The flashing was painted to match the existing chimney. To complete the project, we reinstalled the preexisting tiles around the chimney, carefully matching the existing roof's aesthetic.
