Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full tile roof replacement project in Port Charlotte, Florida. The existing roof was removed down to the wood decking, and we addressed some areas of rotten wood that required replacement. The homeowner selected a beautiful new tile design to enhance their home's curb appeal and provide long-lasting protection against the elements.
Work Performed
Our team meticulously removed the old roof and replaced five sheets of plywood. We then re-nailed the decking with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. Next, we installed Polyglass peel-and-stick underlayment with a cloth finish for superior waterproofing. Finally, we installed the customer's choice of tile, ensuring a secure and aesthetically pleasing finish using tile bond application, as Team Armored is certified in this method for roofs with a pitch of 6/12 or less. We also replaced the off ridge vents with new low profile tile attic vents. The project included installing new vents, drip edge, valley metal, flashing, ridge metal, and bird stop.
