Team Armored Roofing was called to a home in Palm Harbor, Florida, to address a shingle flashing issue around a brick wall. The existing flashing was failing, allowing water to penetrate. Our team carefully removed the damaged shingles and flashing, addressed any underlying wood damage, and installed a new, robust flashing system to protect the home from further water intrusion.
Work Performed
This project involved a comprehensive shingle flashing repair. We began by removing the existing shingles, L flashing, and counter flashing down to the wood decking. After replacing some rotten wood and re-nailing the decking, we installed new peel and stick underlayment. New L flashing was installed around the brick wall, and custom bent counter flashing was integrated into a cut in the brick, secured with fasteners and sealed with roofing sealant for maximum protection. Finally, we installed new shingles to match the home's existing style and new hip and ridge cap shingles to seal the hip of the roof.
