Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roof replacement project in Orlando, Florida, addressing both the shingle and flat roofing sections of the property. The existing roof was showing its age, requiring a full tear-off and replacement. We installed a new shingle roof and implemented a tapered flat roof system to improve drainage and longevity. The project was completed with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring lasting protection and aesthetic appeal for the homeowner.
Work Performed
This project involved replacing both the shingle and flat roof sections. For the shingle roof (18 squares), we removed the old shingles, replaced any rotten wood decking and re-nailed the existing decking. A peel-and-stick underlayment was installed, followed by new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, flashing, and valley metal, before installing new Timberline lifetime GAF HDZ high wind rated shingles. For the flat roof (7 squares), the existing roof was removed down to the wood deck, rotten wood replaced, and decking re-nailed. After leveling the existing decking, tapered boards were installed to create proper pitch, followed by a CertainTeed modified torch-down roofing system. Upgraded Omni ridge vents were added for optimal attic ventilation.
