Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive shingle roof replacement project in New Port Richey, Florida, encompassing both the main house and a detached guest house. The existing roofs were showing their age and required a complete overhaul to ensure the property's protection from the elements. This project involved a full tear-off, wood deck repairs, and the installation of a brand new, durable roofing system. We focused on using high-quality materials and expert craftsmanship to deliver a roof that will last for years to come.
Work Performed
The scope of work included removing the old shingles down to the wood decking. Any rotten wood was replaced, and the decking was re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails to meet current building codes. We installed new peel-and-stick underlayment throughout both roofs to create a waterproof barrier. New lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, and valley metal were installed, followed by either GAF Timberline HDZ or Owens Corning lifetime shingles, selected by the customer. To improve attic ventilation, we installed upgraded omni roll cobra ridge vents and added additional vents where necessary. Finally, all penetrations were step sealed for added protection.
