Team Armored Roofing recently completed a full standing seam metal roof replacement on a beautiful 3-story home in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. The existing roof was removed down to the wood decking, and careful attention was paid to ensuring a solid and weather-resistant foundation for the new system. The homeowners chose a stylish and durable standing seam metal roof for long-lasting protection and enhanced curb appeal. This project demanded a high level of skill and attention to detail, given the property's height and proximity to the Gulf.
Work Performed
Our team began by removing the existing roof and replacing any rotten or damaged wood decking, securing it with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code requirements. A high-temperature peel-and-stick underlayment was then installed, followed by new drip edge, valley metal, pipe covers, and vents necessary for the standing seam system. We installed a TM LOCK standing seam metal roofing system using .032 aluminum panels, 16 inches wide with 1-inch seams, ensuring optimal protection against the elements and the coastal environment thanks to its ocean guard warranty. Chimney flashing was also addressed using proper fasteners, caps, and metal roof sealant per code.
