Project Overview
Team Armored Roofing recently completed a comprehensive roofing project in Dunedin, Florida. This project involved a full shingle roof replacement, along with the careful detachment and reinstallation of existing solar panels. The homeowner now has a beautiful and durable new roof, and a seamlessly re-integrated solar energy system. We addressed every detail, from wood deck preparation to advanced ventilation, ensuring a long-lasting and energy-efficient result.
Work Performed
Our team began by removing the old shingles down to the wood decking. We replaced 5 sheets of rotten plywood, re-nailing the remaining deck with 8D ring shank nails to meet current code. A peel-and-stick underlayment was installed for a waterproof barrier, followed by new lead pipe boot covers, galvalume vents, drip edge, and valley metal. Finally, ATLAS PINELLAS SUN shingles were installed, along with upgraded Omni roll cobra ridge vents and the addition of vents to properly vent the attic. We also upgraded the existing solar panel system by converting it from a 'feet' setup to a modern 'railing/rail' mounting system.
