Team Armored Roofing recently completed a project in Safety Harbor, Florida, addressing concerns with the soffits and a dryer vent. The project involved repairing the soffit tie-ins to the shingle roof and rerouting the dryer vent to ensure proper ventilation and prevent water intrusion. This involved installing new materials and ensuring a weather-tight seal for long-term protection for this Safety Harbor home.
Work Performed
Our team began by installing metal flashing over the pre-existing flashing on the soffit tie-ins where needed. Voids at the stucco walls were then carefully sealed with a certified roofing sealant. The next step involved removing the shingles around the 4-inch groove for the dryer vent, removing the old groove previously sealed with flashing tape. Any rotten wood decking was replaced and re-nailed with 8D ring shank nails per Florida building code. Finally, new peel and stick underlayment was installed, along with a new 4-inch groove sealed with certified roofing cement and shingles to match the existing roof.
